Enjoy the experience of Boyacá grandmothers and their traditional weaving, a craft spanning over four hundred years.
The blend of pre-Columbian techniques from the indigenous Muisca people,using cotton and natural fibers, with wool brought by the Spanish, resulted in beautiful textiles. During the period of cultural mixing, sheep’s wool became more prevalent in weaving. The care of the sheep, their shearing and wool processing, as well as the various techniques of fleece, spinning, and weaving, have been passed down through generations. All of this unfolds in a unique and unforgettable rural setting.
You can also enjoy a pleasant time with an explanation and a mini-tejo game with locals.
