The La Cebada River, as it flows through a small canyon, creates spectacular waterfalls.
The hike through the canyon will lead you through the oak and gaque forests, which survive in small fragments, highlighting their importance and conservation.
During the walk, in addition to marveling at enormous bromeliads, orchids, and various trees of the high Andean forest, you can enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls and their awe-inspiring sound, as well as the calm, relaxing waters that invite you to swim and unwind. You’ll also be treated to a wonderful view of the mountains and the Villa de Leyva valley. The tour includes visits to three waterfalls in the park, with La Periquera Waterfall being the largest.
A moderately challenging canyon hike with a total elevation gain of 250 meters. Suitable for all ages up to 72 years old in good health. The terrain is rugged with ascents and descents. The climate is temperate, with a chance of rain. Appropriate clothing for hiking and trekking shoes are recommended. Optional: bring a swimsuit and towel (if the water level is low, it may be possible to swim in waterfall #3). The drive takes 40 minutes each way. The average hike takes two hours.

9:40AM / 2:40PM. The hike begins by going down to the first waterfall, where we will see it from below and continue through the forest and downstream until we pass the next two waterfalls. Arrival at the waterfall and pool, with enough time to swim, relax or contemplate nature.
11:40AM / 4.40PM. Ready to get walking again, head to the administration center.
12:40PM / 4.40PM. Transportation will be waiting to take us back to Villa de Leyva.
1:30 PM / 5:30PM. Around this time you can be at your hotel.
