Hike to the waterfall at Los Tucanes Nature Reserve. This reserve boasts one of the best-preserved natural areas in the region, with 30 hectares of oak forest where you can observe a great diversity of plants, including bromeliads, orchids, anthuriums, giant ferns, and moss carpets. The birdlife is incredible, with over 150 species reported. The main waterfall is spectacular and forms a pool where you can cool off. During the hike, you can take stunning photos from the viewpoints, making the experience very pleasant and relaxing.
A moderately challenging canyon hike with a total elevation gain of 400 meters. Suitable for all ages up to 72 years old in good health. The terrain is rugged with ascents and descents. The climate is temperate, with a chance of rain. Appropriate clothing for hiking and trekking shoes are recommended. Optional: bring a swimsuit and towel.

8AM. Pickup at your hotel.
9:20AM. Check-in at the Nature Reserve.
9:30AM – 11AM. The first part of the hike is downhill, with stops at the first viewpoint and within the forest to observe nature, rest and breathe fresh mountain air.
11AM – 12M. Arrival at the waterfall and pool, with enough time to swim, relax or contemplate nature.
12M – 1PM. Ready to get walking again, head to the administration center for a coffee or any other beverage you’d like to order.
1PM. Transportation will be waiting to take us back to Villa de Leyva.
2PM. Around 2PM you can be at your hotel.
