A full-day tour enjoying the diverse landscapes of the Chicamocha Canyon,experiencing its essence and exuberance. The first part of the tour includes a stop in the town of Villa Nueva, with a brief pause to sample its popsicles in countless flavors, before continuing towards its pineapple and tobacco fields. As we begin to descend, winding roads with incredible streams that feed the mighty Chicamocha River give way to impressive abysses that produce towering waterfalls.
Coffee plantations line the roadside, along with imposing trees and, further down, a variety of cacti. Upon arrival, a natural pool awaits us to cool off from the hot air at the bottom of the canyon. We’ll relax in hammocks, have lunch, and then take a short hike to visit El Chiflón, a place where the river narrows to just a few meters, revealing its full power.
Finally, we’ll stop in Jordán, a village of barely 50 inhabitants that has survived its geographical isolation, nestled among mountains 480masl. We’ll visit the historic Lengerke suspension bridge, which was of great importance in the past and connected the various towns of Santander with the port on the Magdalena River.
Passive, contemplative, and cultural tour. Ideal for all ages, including seniors. Vehicle transfer to Jordán: 1.45 hours. Natural pool: 2 hours maximum. Short, easy walks. Return to your hotel in Barichara or San Gil, upon request.
Warm weather, low probability of rain. Wear appropriate clothing for hiking and trekking shoes. Bring a swimsuit and towel. Stopping in Curità or San Gil for dinner will incur an additional charge.

8AM. Pickup at your hotel. Travel towards Villa Nueva on route to our first destination.
9:00AM. A quick stop in this town to enjoy their popsicles and the main park.
10:00AM. Optional to short walk to the Manchego waterfall.
12:00AM. Arrival at the previously selected natural pool in Jordan. Time to refresh ourselves and wait for lunch.
1:30PM. Lunchtime and relaxation in hammocks
3:00PM. A short walk to the Chicamocha River to see the beaches and the narrow section of the river called “El Chiflón”.
4:00PM. Return to the administrative center to head to Jordan’s main square and admire the small town and the famous historic bridge.
5PM. Return to Barichara or San Gil.
7:00PM. End of the tour at your hotel.
